On This Day In History..

On April 16, 1943 the psychedelic effects of LSD were discovered. Five years earlier LSD was first synthesized by Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann. After ingesting 250 micrograms he found himself struggling to speak and then proceeded to ride his bike home, thus marking the first LSD trip in history. Hofmann's recollection of his ride home involves him having the sensation of being stationary despite moving rapidly. He also reported distorted vision, fantastic images, and the ability to see sounds.
